Make Yourself Presentable!

Whether you love or hate public speaking, you can probably use a little help with it. I'm one of the ones who loves it, which is why I chose ancient theater as my specialty when I was in graduate school learning how to be an absent-minded professor. I can't actually give your presentations for you, but here are a few things I can take care of:

Avoid PowerPoint Pitfalls!

The biggest mistake people make with presentations is to put the whole text of their presentation onto their slides. The second biggest mistake is to put all those slides on their handouts.

This is guaranteed to give your audiences fits of boredom. They can read faster than you can talk, and when you dim the lights and turn on the projector, they’ll use your presentation as a chance to take a nap.

Good slides supplement and support your words instead of duplicating them. Great slides not only make what you’re saying clearer, they keep your audience engaged, excited, and eager for more.

Don’t have time to hunt down the perfect pictures to make your point with? Give me an outline or a copy of your talk and I’ll find them for you, then combine them with the key points your audience needs to remember.

You’re not limited to PowerPoint’s generic backgrounds, either: I can make you a branded template with your own logo, fonts, and color schemes, so all your presentations will match the rest of your materials.

"I am in awe of your talent! You are my hero! The PowerPoint slides that you created for my 'IP 101' presentation were beyond clever. There is no way that I could ever have come up with such great visuals for my words, even if I had had time to think about it! I am amazed you can be so creative and still come in with room to spare on the schedule. I've been at this for over a decade, and anyone considering your services should rest assured that they are going to get something creative and timely that will make them look fabulous. You make anyone who uses your services immediately stand out head and shoulders above their competitors."
