[...] The better news (theoretically) was that John, being a smart guy with lots of IT experience, had recently made his own backup of his blog. That meant he was starting out in better shape than Jeff Atwood over at Coding Horror, who had to rely on other people to piece together bits of his lost blog for him. [...]

[...] Fileslinger has a great and thorough review of Clouberry Online Backup…which is not actually an online backup service. It is a slick and well designed client that helps the end user do their backups…and the destination is the Amazon S3 storage cloud. So, you buy this software, and then you also pay the (rather small) fees to Amazon for storage. Check out the article, it is well written and quite useful, as usual.
I'll be using cloudberry (ideally WHS version) to backup all my digital pics and videos. Kids really add up the MB (and GBs!). Though I have external drives for local backups, I love online/remote backups for peace of mind. Nothing beats Cloudberry & Amazon S3.

I will use this software to backup my office files and power point files that I store for presentations regarding Higher Education & Training. I took at look at the features and it looks awesome. I also have a bunch of Video training files to sync up.

Hi,
This is my first time on your blog. A very beneficial review. Thank you for pointing out CloudBerry's ability to see beyond the C:\ Drive. This is a key point for me that I had not thought of during my research into Amazon S3. To be perfectly honest, it is the simplicity of Cloudberry Online Backup that probably is what attracts me the most. I understand the concept of what goes on with Amazon S3, but my technical skills are not extensive. I would love to receive one of the 3 free licenses of the CloudBerry Online Backup you are giving away. I would use CloudBerry to back up mainly business data. Currently, my business is a very small one person operation, but it does include a relatively large number of Word and PDF documents as well as photographs and mp3's that I use to communicate with my clients. Right now, I use backup dvd's that I house at an offsite storage area, but with my new introduction to Amazon S3 I feel the time is right to give myself a greater and simpler layer of backup protection.

Thank you for your consideration,

Larry H.
